The Benefits of Superfoods

Have you ever asked yourself what makes superfoods so super in the first place and whether or not our dogs truly need them? We’d argue that there are two possible answers to the latter part of this question - in order to simply survive, dogs don’t need superfoods, but in order to thrive, they benefit immensely from their nutritional density which boosts the doggie immune system.

 

We, of course, want our dogs to thrive and feel so strongly about the benefits of superfoods for dogs that we are happy to report that 18 of them are included in our pre-made raw dog food.

5 Vegetables - Fresh Butternut Squash, Carrots, Pumpkin, Broccoli, & Green Curly Kale

Butternut Squash is rich in fiber, vitamins A, B6, & C, minerals calcium, copper, magnesium, manganese, & potassium, and the antioxidant beta-carotene. As such, it’s a great anti-inflammatory food that supports joint, digestive, eye & heart health as well as bone density. It also helps prevent cancer.

 

Carrots and Pumpkin are rich in fiber, vitamins A, B8, C, & K, minerals potassium, iron, copper, and manganese, and the antioxidant beta-carotene. As such, they also help prevent cancer and support digestive & eye health.

 

Broccoli is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins C & K, minerals calcium & potassium, and fiber. As such, it’s a great anti-inflammatory food, reduces cholesterol, supports a healthy heart, and improves bone density.

 

Green Curly Kale is rich in phytochemicals sulforaphane & indole-3-carbinol, vitamins A, C, & K, minerals copper, calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, and antioxidants lutein & zeaxanthin, beta-carotene, quercetin and kaempferol. 3 Oils - Scottish Cold Water Salmon Oil, Organic Virgin Coconut Oil, & Wheat Germ Oil

 

Salmon Oil is rich in omega-3 fatty acids which are important for skin & coat health.
